Accessibility

The Art Glass Fair takes accessibility issues seriously and is keen to make all visitors experience of the fair the best it can be. We know that for some of our visitors accessibility can be an issue. We have therefore detailed on this page information for those who have special access needs.

We would remind visitors that the venue is a functioning College and therefore does not have the same level of services that would be found in a commercial retail outlet. However help is on hand from members of staff if required.

The general layout of the fair

The fair is spread over two levels and a number of halls. All levels are wheelchair accessible and permanent ramps allow access to the main entrance. Specific details are listed below.

Parking at the fair

There are a limited number of parking spaces allocated close to the fair entrance for those with special access needs. We would ask all visitors to refrain from using these unless they have a genuine need. If you do have special access needs and have an official disabled parking badge it would be helpful, but not obligatory, if these could be displayed.

The main entrance

The main entrance to the fair has has a ramp walkway with a shallow incline, up to the entry doors. The lower end of the ramp leads to a short section of path with a further curb ramp to the level of the car park. The car park is all on one level.

The upper areas of the fair

The upper areas of the fair (balcony, restaurant and upper hall) have a main flight of stairs from the foyer. These are unsuitable for wheelchair access. For those in wheelchairs, or those unable to use the stairs, a lift service is available. Those wishing to use the lift must, for health and safety reasons, be escorted as the entrance to the lift is situated just of the fair's main hall and is a service lift with limited capacity. Please ask at the ticket desk for assistance when the lift is required.
